Characterization of the Study Program
Graduates of the 2nd level of higher education in the study program of Teaching of Physics in Combination, in the study field of 38, Teaching and Pedagogical Sciences, are qualified to perform the profession of a qualified teacher of approved subjects in their specialization at the level of lower and higher secondary education. They possess extensive knowledge and experience in the area of teaching, mastering an extended content of disciplines in their specialization, as well as psychological and pedagogical disciplines. Pedagogical competence is acquired through the preparation of pedagogical-psychological foundation subjects, general and subject didactics of the relevant approved subjects, and during continuous pedagogical practice in each year of the 2nd level of higher education, under the supervision of erudite professionals from practice.
What to Expect in the Study Program
The study program is designed to develop a didactic system of physics teaching, focusing on selected knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for a beginning physics teacher. The program includes subjects like Didactics of Physics, School Experiment Practicum, Methods of Solving Physics Problems, and Current Trends in Physics Didactics. There is also a wide range of possibilities for student profiling through the choice of compulsory elective and elective subjects.
Final Theses
The final thesis demonstrates the student's ability to independently acquire theoretical and practical knowledge based on the current state of science and to apply, use, and develop it creatively. The thesis is written under the guidance of a thesis supervisor. Teachers of the Teaching of Physics in Combination program solve several research tasks and, through an individual approach to the interests of individual students, offer thesis topics corresponding to the vision of developing selected aspects of physical education.
Examples of Successful Theses
- Teaching Sequence Focused on Adjusting Students' Concepts of Speed Composition
- Context of Music and Keyboard Instruments in Extended Physics Teaching at Gymnasium (Context of Music and Keyboard Instruments in Extended Physics Teaching at Gymnasium)
- Students' Concepts of Heat and Thermal Phenomena
- Critical Thinking and Physics Problems
- Methodical Materials on the Topic of Air Humidity (Methodical Materials on the Topic of Air Humidity)
