Environmentálna Geochémia Program

The Environmentálna Geochémia program is a doctoral study program offered by the Prírodovedecká fakulta (Faculty of Natural Sciences) at Univerzita Komenského in Bratislava.

Program Description

The program focuses on environmental geochemistry, with an emphasis on abiotic components of the environment and their interaction with biota. Graduates of the program will be able to conduct scientific research and provide solutions to problems in the field of environmental geochemistry.

Profile of the Graduate

The graduate of the Environmentálna Geochémia program will possess:

• Advanced knowledge of environmental geochemistry, including the latest concepts, principles, and techniques.
• The ability to design and conduct laboratory experiments, including sampling and analysis of environmental matrices.
• The ability to interpret geochemical results and identify geochemical processes leading to the accumulation of chemicals and elements in the environment.
• Knowledge of digitalization of geochemical data and advanced statistical methods used in geosciences.
• The ability to use geochemical computer programs for modeling geochemical processes.

Graduates of the program will be able to work in various fields, including:

• Research institutions focused on environmental studies
• State and public administration, particularly in departments related to environmental protection
• Commercial companies involved in environmental consulting, monitoring, and remediation
• Laboratories analyzing geological and environmental samples

Minimálne Publikané Kritéria (Minimum Publication Criteria)

Graduates are expected to publish at least one Q1-Q3 (JCR) scientific publication as the first or co-author.
