The study of music has been an integral part of European culture for centuries. Questions about the origin of music, its laws, and its impact on the human soul have fascinated people since ancient times. The Musicology program at the Faculty of Philosophy, Comenius University in Bratislava, introduces students to three basic areas of musicology: music history, ethnomusicology, and systematic musicology.
The program emphasizes classical music but also covers folk music, popular music, jazz, and the latest musical trends. Practical music subjects, such as Collegium musicum, piano playing, and score reading, are also part of the curriculum. Additionally, students will explore practical applications of musicology, including computer musicology, music criticism, music management, concert and opera dramaturgy, and music museology.

The program's curriculum, which includes some courses taught in English, supports international career opportunities.
