Graduate Profile and Learning Objectives

The content of the PhD study program is focused on the field of Roentgenology and Radiology. During the doctoral study, students acquire knowledge in the field of progressive imaging diagnostics, such as ultrasonography (USG), computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), hybrid imaging techniques (PET/CT), and in the field of interventional radiology. The main goal of these activities is the theoretical as well as practical handling of diagnostic imaging methods and methods of interventional radiology.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of the study program will focus on imaging diagnostics and treatment with highly sophisticated methods of interventional radiology. They are in demand mainly at workplaces of the Ministry of Health, at all radiological diagnostic and interventional radiological workplaces, as well as at workplaces using hybrid imaging diagnostics (PET/CT, PET/MR). Graduates can apply in the frame of education as university teachers or researchers at universities with a focus on medicine, health sciences, public health, and biology.

Evaluation of the Study Program Quality

A request to assess the quality of the submitted study program was sent to selected employers to express their opinion on the need for a new doctoral study program focused on medical biology and clinical genetics. The delivered letters are available at the Department of scientific-research activities, doctoral studies, and international relationships of the Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University in Bratislava.
