Program Overview
Introduction to Tianjin University's Programs
Tianjin University is one of the first universities selected by the Ministry of Education of China to provide preparatory education for international students studying in China under the Chinese Government Scholarship. Since 2005, Tianjin University has trained and sent over 2,000 preparatory course students with solid Chinese language skills, strong learning abilities, and intercultural communication skills to many renowned universities in China.
Preparatory Course Program
The university attaches great importance to the development of foreign students' abilities in natural and technical sciences, focusing on listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Based on basic Chinese education, with the help of scientific and technical Chinese, and emphasizing the teaching of mathematics, physics, and chemistry, the university has created a unique preparatory education system with outstanding characteristics of natural and technical sciences.
Course Structure
The preparatory course program includes two semesters: spring and autumn. The spring program focuses on Chinese language skills, academic disciplines, and China studies, while the autumn program covers a broader range of subjects, including business Chinese, economics, and management.
Spring Program
- Chinese language skills: reading and writing, scientific and technical Chinese, HSK test preparation
- Academic disciplines: mathematics, physics, chemistry, China studies
- Practice: university enrollment guidance, extracurricular activities
Autumn Program
- First semester: Chinese language skills, academic disciplines, China studies
- Second semester: Chinese language skills, academic disciplines, practice

Application Requirements
- Non-Chinese citizens
- High school graduates aged 18-24
- Good physical and mental health, and a commitment to obeying Chinese laws and university regulations
Application Procedure
- Register and fill in application information on the International Student Service Platform
- Upload required application materials, including:
- Scanned copy of passport
- Scanned copy of high school diploma or certificate of expected graduation
- Scanned copy of transcript
- Resume
- Medical examination form
- Certificate of no criminal record
- HSK certificate (level 4 or above)
Tuition Fees
- Registration fee: 420 yuan
- Tuition fee: 16,900 yuan (spring program), 28,900 yuan (autumn program)
- Medical insurance: 400 yuan per semester
- Accommodation fees:
- On-campus accommodation: 60 yuan per day (single room), 50 yuan per day (double room)
- Off-campus accommodation: students must register with the local police station within 24 hours of arrival
Admission and Enrollment
- Check application status on the International Student Service Platform
- Receive admission notice and visa application form from Tianjin University
- Register at the university and pay tuition fees
