The 3 Lead ECG Interpretation online short course is designed for working health professionals, offering flexible learning options with the entire course available online. This course is suitable for those new to ECG interpretation and serves as a great refresher for experienced professionals.


Course Overview

The course includes 8 video presentations, each approximately 20 minutes long, covering topics such as 3 Lead ECG acquisition, the 5-step method of 3 Lead ECG interpretation, sinus rhythms, atrial rhythms, junctional rhythms, heart blocks, and ventricular rhythms. Multi-choice quizzes and worksheets are provided to help quantify learning and encourage progression through the course.


Topics Covered

The course covers the following topics:


  1. 3 Lead ECG Acquisition: Identify components of the ECG.
  2. The 5-step method of 3 Lead ECG Interpretation: Universal rules to guide rhythm analysis.
  3. The Sinus Rhythms: Normal Sinus Rhythm, Sinus Tachycardia, and Sinus Bradycardia and Sinus Arrhythmia.
  4. The Atrial Rhythms: Wandering Pacemaker, Atrial Tachycardia, Atrial Fibrillation, and Atrial Flutter.
  5. The Junctional Rhythms: Junctional Escape Rhythm, Accelerated Junctional Rhythm, and Junctional Tachycardia.
  6. The Heart Blocks: First Degree, Second Degree Type I and II, and Third Degree Heart Block.
  7. The Ventricular Rhythms: Ventricular Tachycardia, Ventricular Fibrillation, and Idioventricular Rhythm.
  8. Review and Practice: Review of key concepts with practice to reinforce understanding.
