Introduction to the AUT Edge Award and Beyond AUT Award

The AUT Edge Award and Beyond AUT Award are co-curricular awards that encourage students to develop essential employability skills, including work readiness, resilience, collaboration, communication, and the ability to step confidently into life's challenges. These awards acknowledge student involvement outside of study and encourage students to widen their understanding of leadership and the workplace.

Program Overview

The AUT Edge Award and Beyond AUT Award are formally recognised with a certificate, and the completed award appears on the graduate's academic transcript. The awards have four parts, and students must complete set projects in each of the following areas:

• Volunteering
• Employability
• Leadership and challenge
  • This area focuses on developing leadership skills and taking on challenges
• Reflection
  • This area involves reflecting on the skills and knowledge gained through the award

Program Details

The AUT Edge Award is available to all students, while the Beyond AUT Award is available to postgraduate students only. The awards are designed to provide students with an edge when looking for employment, and they are formally recognised by the university.
