Introduction to the Faculty of Greco-Catholic Theology
The Faculty of Greco-Catholic Theology is part of the University of Cluj-Napoca, offering a unique blend of theological education and academic rigor. The faculty aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of Christian theology, combining traditional values with modern academic standards.
Objectives of the Faculty
The faculty has several key objectives:
- To cultivate and offer a profound and solid knowledge of the truth regarding God, humanity, and the world, in the light of Christian Revelation and reason, through scientific research conducted according to the specific method of each discipline.
- To provide philosophical-theological and professional formation for students, according to their chosen specialization.
- To offer ongoing theological formation for the Greco-Catholic clergy and other persons, consecrated or lay, involved in the activity of the Church and society.
- To provide theological and spiritual formation for laypeople who wish to live their faith responsibly, regardless of their field of activity.
- To support the pastoral and evangelization activities of the Romanian United Church with Rome, Greco-Catholic, through the means specific to the educational and research process.
Structure of the Faculty
The Faculty of Greco-Catholic Theology is structured into three departments: Cluj, Blaj, and Oradea.
Specializations
The faculty offers several specializations:
- Teologie Greco-Catolic Asisten Social - 3 years, full-time, in Romanian.
- Teologie Greco-Catolic Didactic - 3 years, full-time, in Romanian.
- Teologie Greco-Catolic Pastoral - 4 years, full-time, in Romanian.
- Teologie Greco-Catolic Pastoral (at Blaj) - 4 years, full-time, in Romanian.
- Teologie Greco-Catolic Pastoral (at Oradea) - 4 years, full-time, in Romanian.
Admission Criteria
- Essay with a pass/fail grade.
- The average grade of the baccalaureate exam, with a 100% weight in the admission average.
Number of Places
The number of available places for each specialization is determined annually.
Admission Schedule
The admission process is conducted in two sessions: July and September. The specific dates for each session are as follows:
- July Session:
- 13-21 July: Online registration.
- 22 July: Display of results and signaling of observations.
- 23 July: Display of initial results.
- 24 July: Confirmation of places.
- 27 July: Display of final results.
- 27-31 July and 1-4 September: Submission of original documents to the faculty.
- September Session:
- 7-13 September: Online registration.
- 14 September: Display of results and signaling of observations.
- 15 September: Display of initial results and confirmation of places.
- 15 September: Submission of original documents to the faculty.
- 16 September: Display of final results.
Tuition Fees
The tuition fees for the academic year 2026/2027 are as follows:
