Program Overview


Introduction to the University Program

The University Program in Orthodontics, specialized in In-Office Aligners, is a comprehensive course designed to equip dental professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide high-quality orthodontic care using the latest aligner technology.


Program Objectives

The program aims to:


  • Teach participants the indications for treatment with aligners
  • Counsel practitioners on how to integrate aligner treatment into their daily practice
  • Share the experience of experienced practitioners in aligner treatment
  • Teach the biomechanical bases of aligner treatments
  • Inform participants about the limits of dental movements with aligners
  • Teach participants how to use auxiliaries in case of limit exceedance
  • Teach the steps of digital setup realization
  • Teach participants how to manipulate 3D printers
  • Teach participants how to fabricate aligners
  • Teach participants how to manage a clinical case

Program Organization

The program consists of 100 hours of teaching over one academic year, divided into:


  • Theoretical teaching: 64 hours
  • Practical teaching: 36 hours The program is delivered through 6 seminars of 2 days each, which can be attended in person or remotely. The teaching is provided in both English and French, with simultaneous translation.

  • Theoretical bases of aligner treatments
  • Selection of cases for aligner treatment
  • Digital workflow
  • Communication with the patient
  • Treatment of malocclusions in the sagittal, transversal, and vertical planes
  • Correction of dental crowding
  • Treatments requiring dental extractions
  • Surgical-orthodontic treatments
  • Multidisciplinary treatments: ortho-paro-prostheses
  • Management of treatment and resolution of potential complications
  • Aligners with shape memory: properties, indications, and uses

Practical Program

The practical program includes:


  • Realization of digital setups: preparation of impressions, dental movements, addition of attachments, creation of steps
  • Export for 3D printing, thermoforming, and cutting of aligners
  • Choice of thermoforming material
  • Learning of direct impression of aligners

Clinical Program

The clinical program includes:


  • A case treated by the practitioner

Target Audience

The program is designed for:


  • Holders of the French state diploma of Doctor of Dental Surgery, specialists in Orthopedic Dentofacial
  • Holders of the French state diploma of Doctor of Dental Surgery, practicing exclusive orthopedic dentofacial
  • Holders of a foreign diploma allowing the practice of dental surgery and orthopedic dentofacial

Admission Criteria

Admission is by selection, based on the study of application files, including:


  • Scan of diploma
  • CV
  • Letter of motivation The promotion is limited to 40 registered participants per year.
