Undergraduate Qualifications

The university provides various undergraduate qualifications, including the Bachelor of Arts degree.

Bachelor of Arts

The Bachelor of Arts degree is designed to familiarize learners with the content and basic theories of a number of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences. The purpose of this qualification is to:

• Provide learners with a deeper grasp of one or more disciplines taken at exit level
• Enable learners to place new knowledge in context and to use appropriate methods for seeking resolution of problems
• Equip learners with a variety of basic scholarly and intellectual competencies
• Prepare learners for post-learner study
• Provide learners with a well-rounded and broad education across a number of disciplines

This qualification contains modules with practical components, which will require learners to spend time away from their home and responsibilities to gain the required industry exposure.

Admission Requirements

Admission to the university is dependent on meeting the specific admission requirements for the chosen qualification. The admission requirements for the Bachelor of Arts degree include:

• A National Senior Certificate (NSC) (Degree endorsement) with at least 50% in the language of teaching and learning
• A Senior Certificate (SC) with matriculation exemption or qualify for the exemption from the Matriculation Board with at least a D symbol on HG or a C symbol on SG in the language of teaching and learning
• Applicants who do not comply with the above requirements should consider applying for a lower-level qualification
• Applicants who would like to apply for admission through recognition of prior learning (RPL) must be at least 23 years old, have completed at least Grade 10, and have at least five years' relevant work experience in the study field

Application for Admission

Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2026 academic year can be submitted online between 3 November and 19 December 2025. Admission to a qualification is not automatic and will depend on whether the applicant complies with the admission requirements and if space is available.

The university will send the necessary information about registration dates and the registration process to all successful applicants who have confirmed their acceptance of the university's offer.
