Undergraduate Qualifications

Undergraduate qualifications are offered in various fields, including Accounting Sciences, Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, Economic and Management Sciences, Education, Human Sciences, Law, and Science, Engineering and Technology.

Bachelor of Arts

The Bachelor of Arts degree is designed to familiarize learners with the content and basic theories of a number of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences. The purpose statement of the Bachelor of Arts degree is to provide learners with a deeper grasp of one or more of these disciplines taken at exit level, as well as to enable them to place new knowledge in context and to use appropriate methods for seeking resolution of problems.

Admission Requirements

Admission to the university is dependent on meeting the specific admission requirements for the chosen qualification.

Qualification Admission Requirements

A National Senior Certificate (NSC) (Degree endorsement) with at least 50% in the language of teaching and learning, or a Senior Certificate (SC) with matriculation exemption or qualify for the exemption from the Matriculation Board with at least a D symbol on HG or a C symbol on SG in the language of teaching and learning.

• Applicants who do not comply with the above requirements should consider applying for a lower-level qualification for which they meet the statutory and additional requirements.
• Applicants who would like to apply for admission through recognition of prior learning (RPL) must be at least 23 years old, have completed at least Grade 10, and have at least five years' relevant work experience in the study field in which they would like to apply for admission to a qualification.

The application fee is R150 for online applications.

Application for Admission

Apply for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2026 academic year between 3 November and 19 December 2025.

• All applications for admission must be submitted online.
• Admission to a qualification is not automatic and will depend on whether the applicant complies with the admission requirements and if space is available.
