Bachelor of Arts in Criminology
The Bachelor of Arts in Criminology is a qualification that aims to familiarize learners with the content and basic theories of a number of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences. The purposes of this qualification include:
- To provide learners with a variety of basic scholarly and intellectual competencies, including the ability to question critically the assumptions of a limited range of theories and authorities.

Admission Requirements
Admission to the university is dependent on meeting the specific admission requirements for the chosen qualification. The admission requirements for the Bachelor of Arts in Criminology include:
- A National Senior Certificate (NSC) (Degree endorsement) with at least 50% in the language of teaching and learning.
- A Senior Certificate (SC) with matriculation exemption or qualify for the exemption from the Matriculation Board with at least a D symbol on HG or a C symbol on SG in the language of teaching and learning.
- A Diploma.
- A Higher Certificate.
- Applicants who would like to apply for admission through recognition of prior learning (RPL) must be at least 23 years old, have completed at least Grade 12, and have at least five years' relevant work experience in the study field in which they would like to apply for admission to a qualification.

Application for Admission
Applications for admission to undergraduate qualifications for the 2026 academic year can be submitted online between 3 November and 19 December 2025. Admission to a qualification is not automatic and will depend on whether the applicant complies with the admission requirements and if space is available.
