Undergraduate Qualifications

The university offers various undergraduate qualifications, including:

• Bachelor of Consumer Science
  • Purpose statement: The purpose of the degree is to provide the student with knowledge, understanding and competence in any of food, clothing and textiles, hospitality services, or nutrition, with business management to enable them to set up their own businesses; to work in the retail sector; or to act as advisors or facilitators.

Admission Requirements

Admission to the university is dependent on meeting the specific admission requirements for the chosen qualification.

• A National Senior Certificate (NSC) (Degree endorsement) or equivalent with at least 50% in the language of teaching and learning and 40% in Mathematics or Technical Mathematics or 60% in Mathematical Literacy
• A Senior Certificate (SC) with matriculation exemption or qualify for the exemption from the Matriculation Board with at least a D symbol on HG or a C symbol on SG in the language of teaching and learning and with at least an E symbol on HG or a D symbol on SG in Mathematics
• An appropriate Higher Certificate that satisfies the Language and Mathematics requirements
• Applicants who would like to apply for admission through recognition of prior learning (RPL) must be at least 27 years old; have completed at least Grade 10; and have at least five years' relevant work experience in the study field in which they would like to apply for admission to a qualification
