Admission Requirements

Admission to Unisa is dependent on meeting the specific admission requirements for the chosen qualification. The requirements include:


  • A National Senior Certificate (NSC) (Degree endorsement) with at least 50% in the language of teaching and learning and 50% in Mathematics
  • Alternatively, a Senior Certificate (SC) with matriculation exemption or qualification for exemption from the Matriculation Board with specific symbols in the language of teaching and learning and Mathematics
  • Applicants may also apply through recognition of prior learning (RPL) if they are at least 23 years old, have completed at least Grade 10, and have at least five years of relevant teaching experience
