Purpose Statement
The purpose of this qualification is to train low-level managers and technicians in the agricultural sector to address the current critical shortage of skilled professionals. This program aims to develop competencies that ensure the relevance of agricultural practices in advancing sector development for food security and sustainable environmental management.

Admission Requirements
- New Applicants and Unisa Students: May register only after receiving and accepting an offer of placement from Unisa.
- Re-registering Students: May register for the 2026 academic year once the registration period opens. Students wishing to start a new qualification must apply during the prescribed application period.
Module Selection
Each Unisa qualification requires passing a specific number of NQF level credits within a designated timeframe to graduate.
- Co-requisite: If Module A is required for Module B, both must be registered simultaneously.
- Pre-requisite: Module A must be passed before registering for Module B.
The maximum number of credits per academic year or semester is limited to 60 credits per semester or 120 credits per year.
Students should plan for the following study time:
- 6 to 8 hours per week for semester modules.
- 4 to 6 hours per week for year modules.
