Programs

Some of the programs offered by the university include:

• Zootechnology I - ZTG1501: This is an undergraduate degree, diploma, and semester module at NQF level 5, with 12 credits. The module is presented in English and online, with co-requisites PAH1501 and PAH1502. The purpose of this module is to equip students with the skills to manage a beef cattle, dairy, and sheep and goats enterprise, including describing basic procedures involved in rearing, breeding, and managing these animals, and suggesting marketing strategies for these animals and their products.

Research

The university is committed to problem-solving research with relevance and impact. Research areas include:

• People in research: This includes NRF rated researchers, research groups and centers, and research professors.
• Research & innovation initiatives: This includes research institutes and chairs, research in the colleges, and innovation support.
• Directorate of Innovation, Technology Transfer and Commercialisation: This includes services such as innovation in action lecture series, innovation support, publications, available technologies, video gallery, trainings, ecosystem partners, start-up academy, and contact information.
• Research support: This includes support programs, awards for excellence in research & innovation, research grants, researcher development academy (RDA), research permissions, postdoctoral fellowship support program (PFSP), research expert consultants, research outputs, and research ethics.

Alumni

The university has an alumni association that allows former students to stay connected with the university and with each other. Alumni can stay involved through convocation activities, and can also access alumni benefits and career services.

Library

The university has a library that provides access to a range of resources and services, including books, journals, and online databases.

News & Media

The university publishes news and media releases, and also has a range of publications and media outlets. These include news, publications, media releases, calendar & events, announcements, experts directory, Unisa Press, and Unisa Highlights Videos.
