Specific Program: Conservation Ecology III - CEC3701
Description
This module is presented at the NQF level 7 and carries 12 credits. It is offered in English and is presented online. The pre-requisite for this module is CEC2601, and the co-requisite is COC2602. It is recommended that students also take CVM2601.
Purpose
On completion of this module, students can critically assess a variety of habitats (i.e., marine, estuarine, freshwater, and terrestrial) in the southern African context. The different zones and limiting factors of each habitat are identified, and the adaptations of organisms to survive in each are described. The value of each habitat as a resource is outlined, and Man's influence is assessed.
