PG Certificate in Aesthetic Dentistry

Overview

The PG Certificate Course in Aesthetic Dentistry is a one-year course that provides students with a comprehensive education in aesthetic dentistry. The course is designed to provide students with a wide-ranging experience in all aspects of aesthetic and cosmetic dentistry.

Course Details

• Duration: 3 modules (1 year)
• Course Structure: The course consists of three contact sessions, each of 6 days duration, held once in four months.

    • Fundamentals of Aesthetics
    • Principles of Adhesion
    • Composites - Material Science and Technical considerations
    • Adhesive bridges
    • Colour Science
    • Dental photography: lecture and training
    • Patient demonstration and hands-on in composite layering technique
  • Module II:
    • Rubber dam isolation
    • Concept of Ceramic Laminate
    • Individual Tooth Characteristics
    • Occlusion and Face bow transfer
    • Impression materials and technique
    • Bleaching vital teeth- lecture and wet finger demonstration
    • Patient demonstration and Clinical cases on Ceramic Laminates
  • Module III:
    • Perio aesthetics - lecture and clinical demonstration
    • Simple orthodontic corrections - lecture and case discussion
    • Concept of posterior indirect aesthetic restorations
    • Resin luting cements
    • Concept of immediate dentin sealing
    • Gingival Tissue Retraction
    • Provisionals in Aesthetic practice
    • Demonstration for posterior indirect restoration

Evaluation

The performance evaluation is done at the end of the 3rd module, based on satisfactory completion of all assignments, followed by an examination that includes written exams, VIVA, and case presentation.
