Program Overview

The M.E in Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security) is a practice-based learning program that offers a comprehensive education in the field of cyber security. The program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in theory and practice, with each theory course having its own associated lab. Extended lab hours enhance practice-based learning, and students have the opportunity to recover program fees through an internship stipend by the end of the second year.

Program Structure

The program has a short duration of study, with just 7 to 8 months spent on the Manipal campus. The second-year project work can be carried out in industry as a paid internship, providing students with valuable industry experience. The internship placement process starts at the beginning of the second semester, and the second year (10 to 12 months) is dedicated to the internship at a company.

Curriculum and Faculty

The program has an industry-oriented curriculum that leads to industry certification from reputable companies such as Microsoft, Intel, AWS, and EC Council. Students have the opportunity to carry out industry-driven mini projects and learn from industry-experienced and industry-certified faculty. A course on professional skill development (PSD) is also offered to train students for internship placement, including mock interviews from industry experts.

Internship and Job Opportunities

A guaranteed internship is offered to selected candidates by Infineon Pvt. Ltd. at the time of joining the course. Students also have the opportunity to get their fees refunded after being converted into an employee in a few companies. The program provides a strong foundation for a successful career in cyber security, with opportunities for internships and job placements in top companies.

Study Abroad and Dual Degree Opportunities

The program offers study abroad and dual degree opportunities at reputable universities such as the University of Birmingham (UoB), UK, Binghamton University (SUNY), USA, Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), USA, and St. Cloud State University (SCSU), USA. Additionally, study abroad opportunities are available at ESIGELEC, France.

• MAHE Scholarships: 20% of the program fee for candidates admitted to the program under the GENERAL category
• GATE scholarship: for students with a valid GATE score
