Admission Process

• Applicants must submit an application form, along with relevant documents, to the Centre for Doctoral Studies (CDS).
• The CDS will scrutinize the application for eligibility and forward the documents to the concerned institution or teaching department.
• The institution or teaching department will form a selection committee, which will assess the applicants based on their academic and research credentials through an interview.
• The selection committee will also decide the probable PhD topic and supervisor and co-supervisor (if required).

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the PhD program at MAHE include:

• Master's degree in the relevant field, with a minimum of 55% marks.
• Applicants must have a valid national fellowship or a scholarship from a recognized agency.
• Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of research experience in the relevant field.

Leave Policy

• Leaves can be availed only with prior approval from the guide and institution.
• If a PhD scholar avails leave over and above the eligibility, the duration of the PhD will be extended by the leave period availed.

Maternity Leave

• Maternity leave, if availed, must be communicated to the CDS along with supporting documents.
• The minimum duration of the PhD program will be extended by the leave period.

Full-Time PhD for Project Fellows

The full-time PhD program for project fellows is designed to provide opportunities for project fellows to pursue advanced research in their chosen field.

Duration

The duration of the full-time PhD program for project fellows is 3 years from the date of successful protocol presentation to the Institutional Protocol Approval Committee (IPAC) and a maximum of 6 years.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the full-time PhD program for project fellows include:

• Project fellows working under funded projects in MAHE institutions or teaching departments and meeting the eligibility criteria.
• Applicants must have a master's degree in the relevant field, with a minimum of 55% marks.
