Program Overview
Introduction to the Master MaQI Program
The 丱ole polytechnique and the ENSAE Paris are launching the Master of Science and Technology (MScT) AI for Markets and Quantitative Investment (MaQI), a program of excellence aimed at reinventing quantitative finance through artificial intelligence.
Program Objectives
The primary objective of the MaQI program is to prepare young talents capable of modifying the structure of AI and Machine Learning algorithms. By mastering the underlying mechanisms of these technologies, graduates will be able to unlock the current limitations encountered in financial markets and quantitative investment, solving complex problems where traditional methods reach their limits.
Unique Pedagogy
The program's major innovation lies in its pedagogical structure in the second year (M2). Each course is co-taught by two professors: an expert in Machine Learning/AI and an expert in quantitative finance. This approach, unique in the academic landscape, will allow students to grasp the natural connections and intrinsic difficulties between these two worlds, ensuring a real hybridization of skills.
Curriculum
Students will benefit from cutting-edge teaching, including:
- Generative AI applied to financial document analysis and structured data
- Machine learning dedicated to risk management and portfolio construction
Support from Industry Leaders and Regulators
The creation of this program responds to a strong call from all sector actors. The Master MaQI already benefits from the support of:
- BNP Paribas, a reference investment bank
- Qube Research & Technologies (QRT), a major quantitative investment fund
- S&P Global, a global provider of alternative data
- The Financial Markets Authority (AMF), which is actively participating in the program's setup to integrate regulatory issues
International Ambition and Cultural Diversity
The Master MaQI is entirely taught in English and positions itself at the level of the best Anglo-Saxon universities. The Master 1 (M1), with a strong international vocation, attracts profiles of excellence from around the world, ensuring great cultural diversity within the Master 2 (M2) promotion.
Opening up to FinTech and Business Models
As a Master of Science and Technology (MScT), the program goes beyond pure technique. It integrates a fine understanding of the business models of modern finance, naturally opening the doors of FinTech and technological startups to graduates. Whether they choose to integrate hedge funds, banks, or pursue a doctorate, students will be ready to lead major innovation projects.

Partnerships and Collaborations
The program remains open to new partners in an inclusive approach. These collaborations are essential for financing the acquisition of massive data (satellite images, maritime traffic, etc.) and high-performance computing capabilities, while also allowing the development of excellence scholarships for students.
