The university offers community engagement experiences for speech pathology students.

Speech Pathology India

This community engagement experience is designed for third-year speech pathology students undertaking unit SPHY310 Community Development, Public Health and Speech Pathology. The activities will take place in Hyderabad and surrounding districts, arranged by the Catholic Health Association of India (CHAI). Students will engage collaboratively with local communities and health professionals to provide:

• Health promotion
• Health care
• Community engagement activities This experience will provide students with insights into the challenges of offering health care in a developing region and a global perspective.

Vietnam

This four-week community engagement experience is available in Da Nang or Hoi An for fourth-year speech pathology students undertaking units SPHY415 and SPHY413 (Hons). Students will engage collaboratively with other allied health students, local communities, and health professionals in a paediatric setting. The experience includes:

• Health promotion
• Health care
• Community engagement activities Students will gain insights into the challenges of offering health care in a developing region and a global perspective.
