Program Overview
Master of Digital Health
The Master of Digital Health is a postgraduate degree that combines health and information technology to improve healthcare outcomes. The program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to design, develop, and implement digital health solutions.
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites:
- Bachelor degree in Health or Information Technology
- OR Bachelor degree in any other field of study
- OR ACU's Graduate Certificate in Digital Health
International applicants must also meet the English Language Proficiency requirements as defined in the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.
Completion Requirements
The completion requirements for the Master of Digital Health vary depending on the pathway:
- Pathway 1 (120 cp): 50 cp from Health Units, 50 cp from IT Units, and 20 cp from Capstone units
- Pathway 2 (160 cp): 50 cp from Health Units, 50 cp from IT Units, 40 cp from one Specialisation group, and 20 cp from Capstone units
- Pathway 3 (120 cp): 50 cp from Health Units, 10 cp from IT Units, 40 cp from Elective units, and 20 cp from Capstone Units
- Pathway 4 (120 cp): 50 cp from Health Units, 10 cp from IT Units, 40 cp from one Specialisation group, and 20 cp from Capstone units
- Pathway 5 (160 cp): 50 cp from Health Units, 50 cp from IT Units, 40 cp from Electives, and 20 cp from Capstone units
- Pathway 6 (160 cp): 50 cp from Health Units, 50 cp from IT Units, 40 cp from one Specialisation group, and 20 cp from Capstone units
Exit Points
A student who has completed the following units may exit with the specified award:
- 40 cp of specified units: Graduate Certificate in Digital Health
- 80 cp of specified units (Pathway 1, 2, 5, or 6): Graduate Diploma in Digital Health
- 60 cp of specified units and 20 cp of Elective units (Pathway 3 or 4): Graduate Diploma in Digital Health
Progression Requirements
Students are required to follow the pattern of unit enrolment set out in the relevant Course Enrolment Guide, unless otherwise approved by the Course Coordinator.
Part A: Health Units
Complete exactly 50 credit points from the following units:
- HLSC505: Health Data Fundamentals
- HLSC506: Strategic Management In Digital Health Service Delivery
- HLSC674: Electronic Health Records, Health Data Exchange & Standards
- HLSC675: Health Knowledge Management
- PHIL519: Ethical Practice in Digital Health
Part B: IT Units
Complete exactly 50 credit points from the following units:
- ITEC610: Python Fundamentals for Data Science
- ITEC615: Fundamentals of Information Technology
- ITEC618: Programming Concepts
- ITEC613: Introduction to Data Science and Machine Learning
- ITEC617: Data and Information Management
Part C: Specialisation
Complete exactly one of the following specialisations:
- DTSC: Data Science
- HLAD: Health Administration and Leadership
- INFC: Information Technology
Part D: Capstone Unit
Complete exactly 20 credit points from the following units:
- HLSC677: Independent Project: Digital Health Solution
- HLSC678: Industry Internship
