Program Overview
Graduate Certificate in High Performance Sport
The Graduate Certificate in High Performance Sport is a postgraduate program designed to provide students with advanced knowledge and skills in the field of high performance sport. The program is delivered online and can be completed in 0.5 years full-time or equivalent part-time.
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the program, applicants must:
- Hold a Bachelor degree or higher in Exercise Science, Sports Science, Human Movement, or a related discipline
- Hold a Bachelor degree or higher and have evidence of relevant industry experience
- Submit a resume alongside their formal application, demonstrating suitability for study and evidence of relevant industry experience and/or prior learning over a sustained period
International students must also meet the English Language Proficiency requirements as defined in the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.
Completion Requirements
To qualify for the degree, students must complete 40 credit points from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, comprising:
- 20 credit points from Specified Units (Part A)
- 20 credit points from Elective Units (Part B)
Schedule of Unit Offerings
Part A: Specified Units
Students must complete exactly 20 credit points from the following units:
- EXSC510: Strength and Conditioning for Performance and Rehabilitation (10 credit points)
- EXSC513: Data Analysis and Interpretation for High Performance Sport (10 credit points)
Part B: Elective Units
Students must complete exactly 20 credit points from the following units:
- EXSC512: Leadership and Culture in High Performance Settings (10 credit points)
- EXSC650: Fatigue, Recovery, Adaptation, and Performance (10 credit points)
- EXSC651: Sports Injury Prevention (10 credit points)
- EXSC668: Performance Nutrition (10 credit points)
Course Map
The course map outlines the recommended sequence of units for students to complete the program. Students can commence the program in ACU Term 1 or ACU Term 3 and can study full-time or part-time.
Progression Requirements
Students are required to follow the pattern of unit enrollment set out in the relevant Course Enrolment Guide, unless otherwise approved by the Course Coordinator.
