Program Overview


Bachelor of Nutrition Science

The Bachelor of Nutrition Science is a three-year full-time or equivalent part-time program that provides students with a comprehensive understanding of nutrition science and its applications in various fields.


Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites at year 12 level, or equivalent:


  • English Standard (Band 2) or English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD) in New South Wales
  • Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL in Victoria

International applicants need to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements as defined in the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.


Completion Requirements

To qualify for the degree, a student must complete 240 credit points from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:


  • For the Bachelor of Nutrition Science without a Major:
    • 180 credit points from Specified Units List A (Part A)
    • 20 credit points from Core Curriculum Units (Part C)
    • 40 credit points from Minor units (Part D) or 40 credit points from Elective Units (Part F)
  • For the Bachelor of Nutrition Science with a Culinary Nutrition or Food Science Major:
    • 140 credit points from Specified Units List B (Part B)
    • 80 credit points from Culinary Nutrition or Food Science Major (Part E)
    • 20 credit points from Core Curriculum Units (Part C)

Students are required to follow the pattern of unit enrolment set out in the relevant Course Enrolment Guide, unless otherwise approved by the Course Coordinator.
