Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission, applicants must meet the following requirements:


  • Completion of year 12 level prerequisites, which vary by state:
    • NSW: Assumed knowledge of English (Standard) (Band 2) or English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD) (Band 3).
    • QLD: English (3 & 4, C).
    • VIC: Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English as an Additional Language (EAL) or at least 25 in English other than EAL.
  • International applicants must meet the English Language Requirements as defined in the Admission to Coursework Programs Policy.

Completion Requirements

To qualify for the degree, students must complete 240 credit points from the Schedule of Unit Offerings, consisting of:


  • 150 credit points from Criminology Specified Units (Part A).
  • 20 credit points from Specified Multi-disciplinary Unit (Part B).
  • 20 credit points from Core Curriculum Units (Part C).
  • 10 credit points from Community Engagement Unit (Part D).
  • 40 credit points from Criminology Elective Units (Part E).
