Program Overview
Introduction to the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowships
The UKRI Future Leaders Fellowships (FLF) scheme is a highly prestigious program that offers long-term support for fellows to pursue ambitious research programmes, address multidisciplinary challenges, and explore new or emerging areas of research, innovation, and collaboration.
Program Overview
The FLF scheme supports researchers in establishing or transitioning to research and innovation independence in any area funded by UKRI, with no barriers to multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research or innovation.
Research Areas of Interest
We are particularly interested in receiving proposals from researchers working in our key strategic areas, including:
- Agritech and food security
- Defence, Security and AI decision-making
- Rural and Coastal Health and Wellbeing
- Energy and Environmental Security
- Heritage and Cultural Wellbeing
Eligibility and Application
We anticipate that Lincoln will be permitted to submit two applications in this round. The scheme will open on 2 February 2026.
