Introduction to the LIDER Program

The LIDER program is designed for young scientists, aiming to enhance their competencies in planning and managing research projects independently. The program focuses on projects with practical applications and implementation potential.

Program Objectives and Funding

The primary objective of the LIDER program is to support young scientists in developing their research skills and managing their own research teams. The maximum funding for a project under this program is 1.8 million PLN.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the LIDER program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be doctoral students, academic teachers, or prepare their doctoral dissertation externally without holding a doctoral degree, or hold a doctoral degree that was obtained less than 7 years ago and be employed by an entity mentioned in Article 7, Section 1 of the Law on Higher Education and Science.
• Be authors of publications in renowned scientific journals or hold patents and implementations.
• Not have previously participated as a project leader in the LIDER program.
• Collaborate with a scientific unit based in Poland that will employ the project leader and team members.
• Hold Polish citizenship, a residence card in Poland, or be a European Union citizen residing in Poland for more than 3 months with a registered stay.

Application Process

The application period for the LIDER program starts on March 18, 2024, and ends on June 30, 2024, at 16:00. Applications can only be submitted through the LSI IT system, which will be accessible from February 19, 2024.
