Program Overview


Introduction to the Transport Program

The Transport program is a comprehensive course of study that prepares students for careers in the transportation industry. The program is offered by the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering.


Program Structure

The program is divided into two levels:


  • First-level studies (7 semesters) lead to a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Second-level studies (3 semesters) lead to a Master's degree.

Specializations

Students can choose from various specializations, including:


  • Exploitation of motor vehicles with conventional and electric propulsion
  • Technique and organization of road transport
  • Rail transport
  • Traffic engineering
  • Logistics transport
  • Air traffic management
  • Ground handling of air traffic control equipment
  • Air navigation (taught in Polish or English)
  • Mechanics and maintenance of aircraft (taught in Polish or English)
  • Transport engineering (taught in English)

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the program, students must meet the requirements set by the university. The decision to open a specialization is made by the Rector, and students are assigned to specializations after the 4th semester.


Study Modes

The program is offered in two study modes:


  • Full-time studies (stacjonarne): Classes are held on weekdays, and there is no tuition fee.
  • Part-time studies (niestacjonarne): Classes are held on weekends, and there is a tuition fee.

European Credit Transfer System (ECTS)

The program follows the ECTS system, which allows for the transfer of credits between institutions.

The Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering is located at ul. Zygmunta Krasiskiego 8, 40-019 Katowice. The Silesian University of Technology is located at ul. Akademicka 2A, 44-100 Gliwice.
