Program Overview
The "Bezpieczestwo i higiena pracy w praktyce" (Occupational Health and Safety in Practice) postgraduate program is organized by the Faculty of Materials Engineering and Industrial Computer Science at the Silesian University of Technology.
Program Description
The program aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage occupational health and safety in accordance with European Union regulations. The curriculum covers topics such as system management, ergonomics, risk assessment, and auditing.
Target Audience
The program is designed for individuals responsible for occupational health and safety in industrial enterprises, as well as graduates seeking to acquire new professional specialties.
Program Structure
- The program lasts 2 semesters.
- Classes are held on Fridays (after 4 PM) and Saturdays.
- Participants receive educational materials as part of the program fee.
- Completion of the program requires participation in classes, earning 30 ECTS points, and defending a diploma thesis.
- Upon completion, participants receive a Certificate of Completion of Postgraduate Studies in "Bezpieczestwo i higiena pracy w praktyce".
- Additional certifications are available, including Internal Auditor of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System and Specialist in Machine Safety and Compliance.
Admission Criteria
- Recruitment is open and conducted electronically on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The program requires a minimum of 23 participants to commence.
- The maximum number of participants is 35.
Fees
- The total program cost is 4000 PLN, payable in two installments of 2000 PLN each.

Course Outline
- System management of occupational health and safety according to PN-ISO 45001:2018 and its auditing: 26 hours
- Ergonomics and work physiology: 8 hours
- Physical, chemical, biological, and psychophysical factors in the work environment: 24 hours
- Risk assessment: 16 hours
- Minimum and essential requirements for machines: 28 hours
- Organization and methodology of conducting occupational health and safety training: 16 hours
- Work accidents and occupational diseases: 8 hours
- Modern methods of adult education: 8 hours
- Labor law basics: 8 hours
- First aid: 8 hours
- Fire protection: 8 hours
- Lean Manufacturing in occupational health and safety: 8 hours
- Occupational health and safety in maintenance - Logout-Lagout system: 4 hours
- Tasks and methods of work of the occupational health and safety service: 10 hours
- Diploma seminar and thesis: 30 hours
- Total: 210 hours
