Technical Manager Master's Degree

General Information

The training goal of the master's program, the professional competencies to be acquired: the goal of the training is to train engineers who are able to manage complex technical and economic tasks through their knowledge and skills in natural sciences, engineering and IT, management and organization, as well as language.


Training Objective and Competencies

  • The purpose of the training is to train engineers who are capable of managing complex technical and economic tasks.
  • Graduates know:
    • the basic concepts, knowledge and key relationships of the technical, economic and management fields,
    • the functional operation of technical equipment and systems, the system of requirements, the conditions for economical operation,
    • the operating principles of organizations as purposeful systems,
    • technical, economic and managerial activities in organizations and their connections,
    • the theory and methodology necessary for the establishment and management of production and service enterprises,
    • environmental protection, quality, consumer protection, product liability, occupational health and safety, technical and economic legal regulations, and the basic principles of engineering ethics,
    • widely applicable problem-solving techniques necessary for research or scientific work,
    • global social and economic processes.
  • Graduates are eligible to:
    • the application and practical utilization of acquired knowledge, the use of problem-solving techniques,
    • to review the production and service processes from a technical, economic, human and social point of view and for communication between the representatives of each specialist area,
    • preparing and implementing business plans,
    • to carry out technical-economic decision-making tasks and to make decisions,
    • to develop and implement innovation strategies,
    • to formulate appropriate criticism or opinion, to make decisions, to draw conclusions,
    • for self-care, self-development, raising one's own knowledge to a higher level,
    • to apply integrated knowledge of technical equipment, technological processes, materials and technologies, as well as related electronics and IT,
    • for the application of procedures, models and information technologies used in the planning, organization and operation of production systems,
    • to carry out the tasks of the technical evaluation analysis,
    • for quality assurance of production systems and technologies,
    • to improve the quality and efficiency indicators of farming.

Training Time and Credit Value

  • The training period: 4 semesters
  • Number of credits required to obtain the master's degree: 120 credits
    • Number of credits that can be assigned to basic knowledge: 30-56 credits
    • Number of credits you can assign to your professional core material: 10-30 credits
    • The number of credits that can be assigned to the differentiated professional material including the thesis: 46-60 credits
    • The minimum number of credits you can assign to optional subjects: 6 credits
    • Credit value assigned to the thesis: 30 credits
    • Proportion of practical knowledge: according to the institutional curriculum, at least 30%.

Admission Requirements

  • According to the student's previous studies, at least 60 credits can be recognized in the following areas of knowledge based on the comparison of the knowledge that serves as the basis for determining the credit - as defined in the Promotion Act:
    • Basic science knowledge (20 credits): mathematics, physics, chemistry, mechanics, materials science, biology
    • Economic and humanities (10 credits): economics, business economics, environmental protection, quality assurance, economic statistics, social sciences
    • Professional knowledge (30 credits): technical representation, machine structures, information technology and applications, production and technological knowledge, management, finance, public administration-legal knowledge, differentiated professional knowledge of the technical, technological and management, economic fields.

Professional Practice

  • The duration of the professional practice is at least 4 weeks, which is determined by the curriculum of the educational institution.
