Program Overview
Introduction to the Antik mveldťstŲrtťnet Alprogram
The Antik mveldťstŲrtťnet alprogram is a doctoral program focused on the historical and cultural aspects of ancient civilizations, particularly Greece and Rome. This program is part of the TŲrtťnelmi ťs Nťprajzi Doktori Iskola (Historical and Ethnographic Doctoral School) at the University of Debrecen.
History of the Program
The program originated from the Klasszika-filolůgiai Tanszťk (Department of Classical Philology), which had its own doctoral program within the NyelvtudomŠnyok Doktori Iskola (Doctoral School of Linguistics) until the mid-2010s. Following organizational changes, the department merged with the ”kortŲrtťneti Tanszťk (Department of Ancient History), and the doctoral program's profile was modified to emphasize historical questions and the study of material remains. As a result, the Klasszika-filolůgiai doctoral program was transferred to the TŲrtťnelmi ťs Nťprajzi Doktori Iskola, where it continues as the Antik mveldťstŲrtťnet alprogram.
