Program Overview

The Applied Ecological Doctoral Program builds upon the general and applied environmental science, ecological, and environmental analytical knowledge and skills acquired during the MSc training. The program provides opportunities for participation in research aimed at addressing domestic and international environmental and nature conservation problems.

Program Focus

The program places particular emphasis on applied environmental analytical studies in the field of environmental protection, while in the field of nature conservation, it focuses on research that can be applied in practical nature conservation. Special attention is given to applied agroecological, applied forestry ecological, and applied urban ecological research.

Program Structure

The program is based on the Department of Ecology, in close cooperation with partner departments (Department of Hydrobiology, Department of Material Science and Environmental Analytics), the Hungarian Academy of Sciences Ecological Research Centre, and state environmental and nature conservation institutions (County Government Offices, Department of Environmental Protection and Nature Conservation, and the Hortobįgy National Park Directorate).
