Master of Computer Science
Program Overview
Master Informatique
The Master Informatique is a national diploma offered by Grenoble INP - UGA and the University Grenoble Alpes. It is a two-year program that prepares students for careers in software engineering, research, and development in the field of computer science.
Presentation
The program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in computer science, including programming languages, operating systems, databases, networks, software engineering, and object-oriented programming. The first year of the program is offered in both French and English, allowing international students to join the program.
Objectives
The objective of the Master Informatique is to provide students with a high-level education in computer science, preparing them for careers in research, development, and engineering. The program covers a wide range of topics, including software engineering, computer networks, cybersecurity, and data science.
Admission
To be admitted to the program, students must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field. The program is open to students with a Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field. Students with a Bachelor's degree in a different field may also be admitted, provided they have a strong foundation in computer science.
Conditions of Admission
Students must meet the following conditions to be admitted to the program:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field
- Have a strong foundation in computer science
- Meet the language requirements (French or English)
Program
The program is divided into two years, with the first year focusing on foundational courses in computer science and the second year specializing in one of several areas, including:
- Génie Informatique (GI)
- Master of Science in Informatics at Grenoble (MoSIG)
- Operations Research, Combinatorics and Optimization (ROCO)
- Cybersecurity (CS)
- Compétences Complémentaires en Informatique (CCI)
- Réseaux informatiques d'entreprise (RIE)
Volume Horaire
The program requires approximately 500 hours of coursework in the first year and 360-900 hours in the second year, depending on the specialization.
International
The program is open to international students, with several specializations offered entirely in English. The program has a strong international focus, with partnerships with universities and companies around the world.
Mobility International
The program allows students to spend time abroad, either through exchange programs or internships. Students can also participate in international research projects and collaborations.
