The Corrosion and surface treatments - 5PMPCOR1 program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of corrosion and surface treatments.

Objectives

  • Deepen the concepts already covered in M1
  • Know the different types of corrosion: coupling mechanical environmental corrosion (intergranular corrosion, stress corrosion, hydrogen embrittlement), corrosion by hot gases
  • Know the different types of surface treatments (coatings, treatments by conversion, diffusion, structural transformation)
  • Deepen the techniques for studying corrosion: impedance spectroscopy, materials characterization techniques
  • Know how to combine environment, materials and protection solutions
