The Certificate in American Politics is a comprehensive program that requires a thorough application process.

Application Requirements

To apply for the Certificate in American Politics, the following documents are required:

• Online application form
• Transcripts
• 2 letters of recommendation
• Statement of Goals
• Resume
• $50 non-refundable application fee

Statement of Goals

The Statement of Goals should address the following items in 500 - 750 words:

• The specific topic(s) of interest on which you wish to focus in political science
• The pertinent experience you bring to the study of political science and your topic(s) of interest
• Prior research you have conducted in political science or related fields
• Your longer-term goals (i.e., how you plan to use the certificate in a future career)

Admission Criteria

Admission is conducted on a rolling basis. Applications may close early under rolling admissions if all available seats are filled prior to the stated deadline.

Deadlines

The deadlines for application are as follows:

• Spring: December 1
• Summer: May 1
• Fall: August 1
