Program Overview
Introduction to Contract Management Program
The Contract Management program at Villanova University College of Professional Studies is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the contract management lifecycle, including commercial and government contracts. The program aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage complex contracts with confidence.
Program Requirements
To complete the Contract Management Certificate, students must fulfill the following requirements:
- Complete two of the three required courses below and one elective, or
- Complete four of the six required micro-course equivalences below and two elective micro-courses equivalences.
- Required courses can be taken in any order to achieve 150 clock hours.

This course is the first part of a two-course sequence designed as an introduction to key concepts and principles for contract management professionals. Students will learn the fundamental principles of contract management.

This course is the second part of a two-course sequence designed as an introduction to key concepts and principles for contract management professionals. Students will apply concepts learned in CTM 1000.
CTM 1020: Fundamentals of Contract Management: Principles and Practice
This course is a comprehensive introduction to key concepts and principles for contract management professionals, covering both principles and practice.
CTM 1100: Commercial Contract Management: Principles
This course examines the theory and practice of commercial management in a business enterprise, including the legal framework for commercial acquisition contracts and the Uniform Commercial Code.
CTM 1110: Commercial Contract Management: Practice
This course applies the concepts learned in CTM 1100, examining the theory and practice of commercial management in a business enterprise.
CTM 1120: Commercial Contract Management: Principles and Practice
This course is a comprehensive examination of the theory and practice of commercial management in a business enterprise, covering both principles and practice.
CTM 1200: Government Contract Management: Principles
This course introduces students to the theory and practice of the federal acquisition management process, including the pre- and post-award contracting process.
CTM 1210: Government Contract Management: Practice
This course applies the concepts learned in CTM 1200, introducing students to the theory and practice of the federal acquisition management process.
CTM 1220: Government Contract Management: Principles and Practice
This course is a comprehensive introduction to the theory and practice of the federal acquisition management process, covering both principles and practice.
CTM 1300: Advanced Contract Management: Principles
This course covers advanced contracting topics, including the Contract Management Body of Knowledge (CMBOK), and is designed for students who have completed one of the required courses.
CTM 1310: Advanced Contract Management: Practice
This course applies the concepts learned in CTM 1300, covering advanced contracting topics and the Contract Management Body of Knowledge (CMBOK).
CTM 1320: Advanced Contract Management: Principles and Practice
This course is a comprehensive examination of advanced contracting topics, including the Contract Management Body of Knowledge (CMBOK), covering both principles and practice.
