Program Overview
The Metrology of Information and Measurement Systems program is designed to prepare specialists with knowledge in various fields of science and technology, including mathematics, physics, chemistry, and ecology. Metrology, the science of measurements, forms the basis of all industrial activities and provides methods and techniques for using fundamental laws of nature to quantitatively describe and compare all production and technological processes.
Program Description
The program, with the direction of preparation 27.03.01 and standardization and metrology as its scientific field, is part of the Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. It offers a Bachelor's degree with a duration of 4 years in full-time attendance. The language of instruction is Russian.
Program Objectives
The program aims to provide students with a wide range of possibilities for employment as specialists in metrology. Graduates can work as:
- Engineer-metrologist: organizing work on metrological support of enterprises, establishing metrological characteristics of measurement tools and standard samples, and updating the reference base, verification equipment, and measurement tools.
- Engineer-researcher: conducting applied scientific research on creating and metrologically supporting new products, systems, technologies, devices, and complexes, and participating in testing and preparing regulatory and technical documentation.
- Quality control specialist: conducting quality audits of products and raw materials, analyzing quality indicators, and identifying discrepancies in the technological process and product quality.
- Specialist in metrological expertise: conducting metrological expertise at various stages of the life cycle of enterprise products.
