Program Details
The educational program helps students become professional jewelers and improves the skills of those interested in jewelry making in designing and manufacturing jewelry. During their studies, students will create four collections of jewelry and learn to embody their creative potential in real jewelry products.
The program combines engineering and artistic training, continuous mastery of jewelry making, and the ability to create artistic products with one's own hands. The program covers methods of designing jewelry and souvenir products, as well as all technological processes of producing jewelry from the artist's idea and design to the creation of a real product.
The educational process widely uses applied software packages for jewelry designers. Digital technologies are also integrated into the educational process. Some lectures are held at the Museum of Stone Cutting and Jewelry Art and the Museum of Fine Arts in Yekaterinburg.
Practical Experience
Students are expected to actively participate in extracurricular activities, such as visiting exhibitions of jewelry art, museums, and theaters in the city, participating in annual university and city exhibitions of artistic creativity, and regional and All-Russian exhibitions, conferences, and Olympiads in the specialty.
Laboratory Facilities
The department has a laboratory where the full cycle of creating artistic and jewelry products and interior items is implemented, obtained by casting and pressure processing. The laboratory is always open to program participants, allowing them to embody their design developments into real products.
Career Prospects
Dozens of talented graduates who completed their studies in the specialty and bachelor's degree programs in the direction of Technology of Artistic Material Processing work in large jewelry houses in Yekaterinburg and Russia as artists, designers, engineer-technologists, and 3D modelers. Some graduates have become leading specialists, such as chief technologists, artist-constructors, and heads of design studios. Their works have been repeatedly nominated for awards in specialized competitions, including "JUNWEX" and "Hong Kong International Jewellery Show".
Program Outcome
By the end of the program, students will have gained the skills to generate ideas, implement them in real projects, and create jewelry products, some of which will remain with them forever.
