Program Overview

Introduction to the Summer Training Program

The Strong Field Physics and Ultrafast Technology Laboratory has been conducting a summer training program for new students since 2001. The primary objective of this program is to provide a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental knowledge and techniques required for research in the laboratory, enabling students to quickly adapt to the laboratory environment and commence their academic careers.

Program Overview

The summer training program is designed to cater to the needs of research students, offering a thorough overview of the essential skills and knowledge necessary for their research endeavors. The program has undergone significant developments over the years, with notable collaborations and expansions.

Program Evolution

  • In 2005, the program was taken over by the National Center for Theoretical Sciences, becoming a national-level training program.
  • By 2006, the program had expanded to include more professors and was divided into two main categories: common subjects and classified subjects.
  • The common subjects covered the fundamental knowledge and techniques of experimental physics, while the classified subjects included specialized topics such as "Laser Plasma Physics" and "Atomic and Molecular Physics."
  • In 2008, the program was merged with the "Laser Plasma Physics Summer School."
  • From 2009 to 2012, the program was once again conducted by the Strong Field Physics and Ultrafast Technology Laboratory.
  • Since 2012, the program has been incorporated into the "Instrument Technology Training Course" series, organized by the Instrument Technology Research Center of the National Applied Research Laboratories.
  • In 2017, the program was conducted in conjunction with the "Atomic and Molecular Physics Summer School," hosted by the National Center for Theoretical Sciences.
  • Starting from 2020, a new program called the "Optical Generation Experimental Technology Preparatory School" was launched, open to external participants.

Program Details

The "Optical Generation Experimental Technology Preparatory School" is scheduled to take place from August 25 to 29, 2025, at the Institute of Atomic and Molecular Sciences, Academia Sinica.
