Program Announcement: Visiting Scholar Programs at Harvard-Yenching (2026-2027)

The program is announced by the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), regarding the Visiting Scholar Programs organized by the Harvard-Yenching Institute (HYI).

Program Details

• Eligibility: The program is open to full-time faculty members at VNU with a minimum of 3 years of work experience, specializing in social sciences and humanities.
• Quota: VNU can nominate a maximum of 4 candidates.
• Benefits: Selected scholars will receive a 10-month research grant (from August 2026 to May 2027) at Harvard or other universities in the United States, including:
  • Round-trip airfare
  • A monthly stipend of $7,725
  • Health insurance up to $5,500
  • Research funding up to $5,000
• Requirements: Applicants must hold a Ph.D., demonstrate strong research capabilities and English proficiency, and propose a research topic with an international perspective (involving at least one Asian country). They should not have previously resided in the United States for an extended period.

  • Confirmation letter from the applicant's institution
• Deadline: Applications must be submitted to VNU by 16:00 on September 12, 2025, and to HYI online by September 15, 2025.
