Multiple Subject Teaching Credential Program
The Multiple Subject Teaching Credential Program offers various pathways for students to earn their credential. These pathways cater to different needs and preferences, ensuring flexibility and personalized support.
Program Pathways
- Traditional Program: This program is the most flexible and suits the needs of most candidates. It allows students to take courses in the late afternoon or evening and can be completed full-time or part-time. Applications are accepted for both fall and spring semesters.
- ACT (Accelerated Collaborative Teacher Preparation Program): The ACT program enables students to earn their credential in two semesters. It offers a cohort atmosphere with personalized advising and guaranteed course enrollment. Applications are only accepted in the fall semester.
- ITEP (Integrated Teacher Education Program):
- Freshman Option: This pathway leads to a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies and a Multiple Subject Credential concurrently. It is designed for first-time freshman students and is a full-time cohorted program. Applications are only accepted in the fall semester.
- Junior Option: This pathway also leads to a bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies and a Multiple Subject Credential concurrently but is designed for students with junior standing. It can be taken full-time or part-time, with applications accepted in both fall and spring semesters.
- Internship Program: Designed for students with an offer of full-time employment in a public or charter elementary position, this program offers classes in the late afternoon and evening. Certain coursework can be completed on the job.
