Program Overview


Criminology and Justice Studies

The Criminology and Justice Studies program offers a comprehensive examination of the issues facing at-risk youth in their personal relationships and in their school and community environments.


Course: CJS 410CS

Mentoring to Overcome Struggles and Inspire Courage (MOSAIC)

  • This course includes the criminological and social scientific examination of the issues facing at-risk youth.
  • Student mentors are paired with youth in the community who have been identified as having academic or behavioral issues.
  • The mentoring relationship is examined in the classroom as well as being implemented in the field.

Prerequisites and Recommendations

  • Prerequisite: CJS 101 or CJS 102 or CJS 302 or permission of instructor.
  • Recommended Preparatory: CJS 310.
  • An application process and review is required for permission to enter this class.
