Course: RTM 151B. Rock Climbing and Mountaineering

This course examines the basic elements of rock climbing, mountaineering, and alpine travel, including:

• Climbing ethics
• Fitness
• Physiological effects of environmental stress and work at high altitudes Emphasis is placed on safety, proper use of equipment, climbing technique, and minimizing impacts on the natural environment. The course requires arranged field trips.
