Description

This course provides a general introduction to the interrelated systems of urban transportation and urban land use, and their effects on the growth, development, and future of human settlements. The course will provide entry-level competence for students seeking employment in transportation planning in the public or private sectors.

  • Upper division standing or instructor consent

The course covers four broad areas:


  • Transportation planning history
  • Transportation and land use theory
  • Transportation planning process and techniques
