Program Overview

Introduction to the Double Master's Program

The Double Master's University Program in Engineering of Roads, Canals, and Ports + Transport, Territory, and Urbanism is a comprehensive academic offering.

Program Description

The Master's University Program in Engineering of Roads, Canals, and Ports (MUICCP) enables the practice of the regulated profession of Engineer of Roads, Canals, and Ports. The Master's University Program in Transport, Territory, and Urbanism (MUTTU) delves deeper into the connected knowledge in the subjects of urbanism and territory, as well as their transport systems, both terrestrial and maritime. Both master's programs have multiple coincidences between them.

Program Objectives

A student who wishes to acquire the professional competencies to practice as an Engineer of Roads, Canals, and Ports and, additionally, wants a professional and research specialization in transport engineering, territory, and urbanism, has in this academic offer of double master the opportunity to receive integral training that provides the professional qualification of Engineer of Roads, Canals, and Ports and a strong specialization in these fields.

Program Structure

The double degree allows acquiring the competencies of both master's programs through an integrated academic trajectory. All this, with a lower temporal and economic cost than the one that represents obtaining both master's degrees in an individualized manner. Thus, a student of MUICCP, instead of taking the 120 ECTS of the MUICCP master's program and the 90 ECTS of the MUTTU master's program, will take, together, 165 ECTS, representing a savings of 45.0 ECTS. The approach of the proposal is made in the sense MUICCP > MUTTU, so that the non-enabling master's program (MUTTU) represents, for the student, an extension of the specialization in planning and management of transport, territory, and urbanism, with respect to what is acquired in the enabling master's program (MUICCP).
