Program Overview
The CAyD2 program is a pedagogical training program designed for assistant professors, with a duration of 100 hours (4 ECTS). The program is established in response to the demands of the LOSU, Article 78, which requires universities to organize a mandatory initial teacher training course for assistant professors.
Program Objectives
The objectives of the CAyD2 program are:
- Developing the teaching skills of university faculty (LOSU)
- Curriculum design of a complete subject
- Initiating teacher professional development
Program Details
The CAyD2 program is proposed in response to the demands of the LOSU, Article 78, which establishes that universities shall organize a mandatory initial teacher training course for assistant professors. The characteristics of the program will be established by the universities themselves, in agreement with the units responsible for teacher training and innovation.
According to Article 78 of the LOSU, once the first three years of the contract have elapsed, the university will carry out an orientative evaluation of the performance of the Assistant Professors. This evaluation will assess the progress and quality of the teaching and research activity and, where appropriate, the transfer and exchange of knowledge of the teaching staff, which should lead them to achieve the merits required to obtain the necessary accreditation to apply for a permanent teaching position once the contract has ended.
