The Erasmus Mundus Master Degree in Plant Health in Sustainable Cropping Systems, also known as PlantHealth, is a comprehensive program designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to address the complex challenges in plant health. This program is offered in collaboration with several prestigious universities, including the Universitat Politècnica de València, Agro Paris Tech, Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Institut National D'Enseignement Supérieur Pour L'Agriculture, L'Alimentation Et L'Environnement, and Universita` Degli Studi Di Padova.

Access Requirements

To be eligible for the program, candidates must submit the following documentation:


  • University Degree: An official degree (minimum 180 ECTS) in Agronomy, Agriculture, or other related fields, with at least 4 ECTS in Plant Health or Crop Protection.
  • Academic Transcripts: An official document with the academic record of the degree.
  • Accreditation of English Level (Minimum B2): Certificates from recognized English proficiency exams.
  • Two Letters of Recommendation: Issued by university professors or employers, including contact information, signature, and official seal of the institution.
  • Curriculum Vitae: Recommended to be in the Europass format.
  • Proof of Residency: Required only for Erasmus Mundus scholarship applications during the first call for applications.

Admission Criteria

Applications that meet the access requirements are evaluated by the PlantHealth Selection Committee based on the following criteria:


  • Academic Record and Merits: Up to 60% of the evaluation.
  • Reference Letters: Up to 20% of the evaluation.
  • Personal Motivation: Up to 20% of the evaluation, with a maximum of 1,000 characters.

Scholarships

Several scholarship opportunities are available:


  • Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) Scholarships: Cover participation costs, medical and travel insurance, and a monthly allowance of 1,400 euros for up to 24 months.
  • Erasmus+ Scholarship for the Second Year (M2): Partially covers costs for the second year, with amounts varying by country of destination.
  • University of Padua (UNIPD) Scholarships: Available for students in their second year at UNIPD, including scholarships based on family income and other criteria.
  • Paid Internships During the Thesis: Possible when the thesis is carried out in a company, with financial support varying by country.

Access to Pre-registration

The application for admission is made exclusively online through the official website, with two deadlines:


  • First Deadline: October 1 to December 31, for consideration for an Erasmus Mundus scholarship.
  • Second Deadline: May 20 to June 15.

Participation Costs

The total cost of participation is €9,000, payable in two installments:


  • First Payment: €4,500, before the beginning of the first academic year.
  • Second Payment: €4,500, before the end of the first academic year.

Participation costs cover various academic, administrative, and student support services, including medical and accident insurance, official registration, language courses, and access to academic infrastructure.
