Taller. Gabinete de Optomecánica
Description
The Taller. Gabinete de Optomecánica is a workshop that explores the possibilities of optomechanical devices in the context of an exhibition. The workshop is led by artists Bruno Delgado Ramo and Regina Rivas Torné, who will guide participants in experimenting with these devices and exploring new uses for them.
Objectives
The objective of the workshop is to work with optomechanical devices, such as projectors and cameras, and to explore their potential in the context of an exhibition. Participants will be encouraged to bring their own devices and to experiment with them in the workshop.
Structure
The workshop will be structured in two phases. The first phase will be dedicated to the presentation of the artists' practices and the collection of optomechanical devices. The second phase will take place during the mounting of the exhibition, where participants will investigate the possibilities of exhibiting the devices.
Dates
- 11 March 2026: Presentation and collection of devices
- 12 March - 23 April 2026: Online follow-up
- 24-30 April 2026: Presential workshop at Espai n-1 UPV
Instructors
- Regina Rivas Tornés: Conservator and restorer of film, video, and audiovisual media at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía.
- Bruno Delgado Ramo: Visual artist with a background in architecture, who explores the materiality of film and its relationship to space.
Requirements
Participants are required to bring their own optomechanical devices, such as projectors or cameras, to the workshop.
Language
The workshop will be conducted in Spanish, but participants are encouraged to bring devices and materials in any language.
Bio
Regina Rivas Tornés
Regina Rivas Tornés is a conservator and restorer of film, video, and audiovisual media at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía. She combines her work with artistic practice and theoretical research, exploring the material conditions of the moving image.
Bruno Delgado Ramo
Bruno Delgado Ramo is a visual artist with a background in architecture. His work is based on experimental and physical practices with film media, where specificity, process, and space are important.
