Apparel Merchandising and Product Development
College of Education and Human Development
The College of Education and Human Development offers a program in Apparel Merchandising and Product Development. Upon completion of the baccalaureate degree, students in this program are expected to:
- Plan textile and apparel product lines to meet target market needs using the product development process.
- Evaluate apparel industry processes in which products are developed, produced, marketed, sold, and consumed in the global economy.
- Formulate solutions to apparel and textile global problems as evidence of critical and creative thinking skills.
- Evaluate issues of personal and social responsibility, professional behavior, and ethics related to the impact of individual, organizational, and corporate decision making.
Program Options
Students select one of two options within the degree program:
- Apparel Merchandising and Product Development - with marketing minor (87 - 89 hours)
- Apparel Merchandising and Product Development - with Fashion Institute of Technology option (93 - 95 hours)
